PNEUMATIC DUCT - INSPECTION/CHECK

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains two tasks. The first task does an inspection for interference condition between the leading edge TAI pneumatic duct and the fuel tube in the Engine No. 2 strut. The second task inspects for the titanium ducts which are touched by fire-resistant hydraulic fluid.

(1)
Open the No. 2 engine leading edge access panel, 6404R.

(2)
Examine the TAI pneumatic duct and fuel tube for evidence of chafing and fuel leakage.

(3)
Measure the clearance between the fuel tube and the TAI pneumatic duct.
(a)
AIRPLANES POST-SB 28-1077; AIRPLANES PRE-SB 28-1084; Make sure the clearance is more than 0.10-inch.
(b)
AIRPLANES POST-SB 28-1084; Make sure the clearance is more than 0.50-inch.

(4) If clearance is less than the specified limit, loosen the pneumatic duct clamps and adjust the pneumatic duct to the specified limit, then tighten the duct clamps.

A. General
(1) Fire-resistant hydraulic fluid can contaminate titanium ducts.
NOTE: Ducts that have been contaminated can be cleaned.
