 BLEED AIR ISOLATION VALVE - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

 1.  General_______
 A.  This procedure contains two tasks. The first task removes the bleed air isolation valve. The second task installs the bleed air isolation valve.
 B.  The bleed air isolation valve is installed in the keel beam, between the left and right crossover pneumatic manifold ducts. The bleed air isolation valve is accessible through an access hole in the keel beam. However, it is necessary to remove an air conditioning duct section in front of the keel beam access hole in order to remove or install the bleed air isolation valve.

 C.  Prepare to Remove the Valve

 (1)  Open the circuit breaker for the BLEED AIR ISOLATION VALVE, on the P6-4 panel, and attach a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag.

 WARNING: YOU MUST REMOVE THE PRESSURE FROM THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM BEFORE
_______ YOU REMOVE COMPONENTS FROM THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM. THE HIGH PRESSURE AIR CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (2)
Remove the pressure from the pneumatic system (AMM 36-05-00/201).

 (3)
Open both access doors for the air conditioning equipment bay.

Remove the air conditioning duct located in front of the keel beam access hole and parallel to the keel beam, to get more room to ease the valve removal.

Remove the electrical connector from the valve.

Remove the bonding jumper from the valve.

Make sure you remove the pressure from the pneumatic system.
