A. Removal of the Sensing Elements CAUTION : REMOVE OR INSTALL THE SENSING ELEMENTS CAREFULLY. DO NOT TWIST,

BEND OR CAUSE KINKS IN THE SENSING ELEMENTS.
(1)
Remove and discard the lockwire from the bracket and the union nut (2).
(2)
Loosen the union nut (2).
(3)
Remove and discard the lockwire from the bracket and the retaining nut (1).
(4)
Remove the retaining nut (1).
(5)
Remove the bonding jumper from the socket.
(6)
Attach the sensing element to the bracket.
(7)
Put blanking caps on the disconnected electrical connector(s) and on the receptacle(s).
(8)
Loosen the camloc (3) and open the clamp (5).
(9)
Remove the sensing element with the attached grommet (4) from the clamp (5).
(10)
Remove the grommet (4) from the sensing element.
(11)
On the bulkhead remove and discard the lockwire from the union nut
(2) and the bulkhead connection (6).
(12)
Loosen the union nut (2).
(13)
Put blanking caps on the disconnected connector(s).

For access to the overheat sensing elements between FR49 and FR50:
(a)
Make sure that the adjustable access platform is in position.
(b)
Make sure that the access panel 197BB is open.

For access to the APU overheat sensing elements between FR46 and FR70 from the AFT cargo compartment:
