4. Procedure
_________
(Ref. Fig. 401/TASK 36-11-51-991-300) Subtask 36-11-51-110-052
A. Clean the Seals WARNING : DO NOT GET THE CLEANING FLUID ON YOUR SKIN OR IN YOUR EYES. PUT
_______ ON PROTECTIVE CLOTHING, GOGGLES AND A FACE MASK. USE THE FLUID IN A WELL VENTILATED AREA. DO NOT BREATHE THE GAS IF YOU GET CLEANING FLUID ON YOUR SKIN OR IN YOUR EYES, FLUSH IT AWAY WITH WATER. GET MEDICAL AID IF YOUR SKIN OR EYES BECOME IRRITATED.
(1) Clean the surface of the seals (20) with a clean cloth made moist with methyl alcohol (Material No. CP11006).
Subtask 36-11-51-210-051
B. Visual Inspection of the Seals
(1)
Examine the seals for signs of oxidation, carbon flakes and foreign materials on the face that touches the duct flanges.
(2)
Examine the surface and the edges of the seals for dents, pitting, cracks, scratches and distortion.
(3)
If you cannot remove the foreign materials from the seals or if you find damage or distortion, replace the seals.

C. Installation of the High Pressure (HP) Bleed Valve
(1)
Remove the blanking plugs from the disconnected line ends.
(2)
Put the HP bleed valve (25) in position between the mid stage tee-duct (5) and the HP tee-duct (10).
NOTE : Make sure that the flow arrow on the valve points to the mid
____
stage tee-duct.
(3) Loosely attach the HP bleed valve (25) to the ducts (5) and (10) with the couplings (15) and the E-seal (20). Do not tighten the couplings at this time.

R (4) Make sure that the sense tube and the unions are serviceable.
R (5) Connect the HP sense tube to the HP bleed valve (25) and make sure that the HP sense tube is in the correct position.
R (6) TORQUE the coupling nut on the HP sense tube to between 1.52 and 1.69 m.daN (11.20 and 12.46 lbf.ft).
NOTE : Make sure that the bolt of the coupling (15) is aligned with____ the airflow arrow on the body of the HP bleed valve.
R (7) Do the steps that follow to torque the coupling nuts:
CAUTION : USE 2 WRENCHES TO REMOVE OR INSTALL THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS._______ ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE UNION AND ONE TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE COUPLING NUT. THIS WILL PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE HARDWARE.
(a) TORQUE the coupling nuts to the value shown on the coupling.
(b) Lightly hit the perimeter of the coupling with a fiber hammer, then torque the coupling nut again.
(c) Do the torque procedure two times, then torque the coupling nut again.
R (8) Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connectors.
R (9) Make sure that the electrical connectors are clean and in the correct condition.
R (10) Connect the electrical connector (4000HA-A) to the HP bleed valve. Tighten the connector by hand plus one-eighth turn.

D. Preparation for the leak test
(1) There are two possible procedure to find the location of a pneumatic joint air leak.
NOTE : Apply dry developer only on the connections of the pneumatic____ components which were removed. Do not apply dry developer on all of the pneumatic components.
You can apply developer, dry (Material No. CP3010) around the
pneumatic joints or you can install FOIL-ALUMINUM (Local Purchase)
around the pneumatic joint locations.
Use the steps that follow to apply foil, aluminum to the pneumatic
joint locations.
(a)
Wind the foil wrap around the joint one time.
(b)
Twist the seam of the foil wrap tight.
(c)
Make the foil wrap as tight as possible on the tube but not rip the wrap.
(d)
Attach the foil wrap with safetywire 0,024in. (0,6mm) (Material No. CP8004) at both sides of the pneumatic joint.

E. Close Access
(1)
Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.
(2)
Close the left thrust reverser doors (Ref. TASK 78-36-00-410-040): FOR 1000EM1 451AL FOR 1000EM2 461AL
