(1)
Make sure that the safety barriers are in position.
(2)
Make sure that the warning notice is in position in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the slat controls.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1)
Make sure that the slats are fully extended (Ref. TASK 27-80-00-866-004).
(2)
Make sure that the LOCKING TOOL - FLAP/SLAT CONTROL LEVER (98D27803000000) is installed on the flap/slat control lever on panel 114VU.
(3)
Make sure that the access platform is in position below the applicable access panels.
(4)
Make sure that the applicable access panels are removed:
-
FOR 21HF, 77HF panels 191EB, 191CT, 191BT, 521AB, 521BB, 521CB
-
FOR 37HF, 64HF panels 192EB, 192CT, 192BT, 621AB, 621BB, 621CB.

A. Preparation for Installation
(1)
Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with a MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003) made moist with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-026).
(2)
Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(3)
Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(4)
Examine the cable (40) and/or the cable (44) for the correct condition.
(5)
Remove the blanking caps from the applicable connectors and examine the connectors for the correct condition. Put the blanking caps on the connectors again.
Subtask 36-22-16-420-051 R B. Installation of the Cables CAUTION : REFER TO THE MATCH MARKS MADE DURING THE REMOVAL WHEN YOU
_______ CONNECT THE ELECTRICAL WIRES. INCORRECT CONNECTION OF THE WIRES WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1)
Carefully install the applicable cable (40) and/or the cable (44). Do not remove the blanking caps.
(2)
Remove the blanking caps from the applicable connectors (19), (23) or (22), (24).
(3)
For the cable 21HF(37HF):
(a)
Install the connector (23) in the flanged attachment (21).
(b)
Install the nut (20) on the connector (23).
(c)
TORQUE the nut (20) to between 0.56 and 0.68 m.daN (49.55 and
60.17 lbf.in).
(d)
Install the connector (19) on the connector (23).
(e)
TORQUE the connector (19) to between 0.56 and 0.68 m.daN (49.55 and 60.17 lbf.in).
(4)
For the cable 77HF(64HF):
(a)
Install the connector (24) on the connector (22).
(b)
TORQUE the connector (24) to between 0.56 and 0.68 m.daN (49.55 and 60.17 lbf.in).
(5)
Safety the connectors (19), (23) and (24) and the nut (20) with MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-010).
(6)
Cut the cable (40) or (44) to the correct length and connect it to
the electrical cable with the in-line splice NSA936809RG0001 (Ref. R ESPM 204312).
