A. Safety Precautions
(1)
Make sure that the safety barriers are in position.
(2)
Make sure that the warning notice is in position in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the slat controls.
(2)
Install a protective sleeve (26) on the overheat sensing element (14) or (17) at each clamp (25).
(3)
Close the clamps (25) sufficiently to hold the overheat sensing element (14) or (17) in position. Let the overheat sensing element
(14) or (17) be sufficiently free for you to make the connections.
(4)
Install the overheat sensing element 26HF(42HF) and 53HF(69HF):
(a)
At the pylon outboard closing-rib, remove the blanking caps from the connectors (19) and (22).
(b)
Install the connector (22) in the flanged attachment (21).
(c)
Install the nut (20) on the connector (22).
(d)
TORQUE the nut (20) to between 0.56 and 0.68 m.daN (49.55 and
60.17 lbf.in).
(e)
Install the connector (19) on the connector (22).
(f)
TORQUE the connector (19) to between 0.56 and 0.68 m.daN (49.55 and 60.17 lbf.in).
(g)
At the outboard telescope-rib, remove the blanking caps from the connectors (19), (22), (23) and (24).
(h)
Install the connectors (22) and (23) in the flanged attachment (21).
(i)
Install the nut (20) on the connectors (22) and (23).
(j)
TORQUE the nut (20) to between 0.56 and 0.680 m.daN (49.55 and
60.17 lbf.in).
(k)
Install the connectors (19) and (24) on the connectors (22) and (23).
(l)
TORQUE the connectors (19) and (24) to between 0.56 and 0.68 m.daN (49.55 and 60.17 lbf.in).

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
R (1) Make sure that the slats are fully extended (Ref. TASK 27-80-00-866-004).
(2) Make sure that the LOCKING TOOL - FLAP/SLAT CONTROL LEVER (98D27803000000) is installed on the flap/slat control lever on panel 114VU.
(3) Make sure that the access platform is in position below the applicable access panels.
R R R (4) Make sure that the applicable access panels are removed (Ref. TASK 57-41-37-000-003), (Ref. TASK 57-41-37-000-004), (Ref. TASK 57-41-37-000-006):
- FOR 26HF, 53HF panels 522AT, 522AB, 522CB, 522EB, 522FB
- FOR 42HF, 69HF panels 622AT, 622AB, 622CB, 622EB, 622FB.

C. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged
