the pressure transducer 8HA1(2) is used to measure the regulated pressure. The pressure transducer 8HA1(2) is connected with a sensing line to the pneumatic duct downstream of the bleed pressure regulator valve. This transducer is electrically connected to the BMC 1(2) for monitoring/indication of the system parameters.


 A temperature sensor 6HA1(2) is installed downstream of the precooler. It is installed in the elbow of the pneumatic duct in the left (right) pylon. An electrical cable connects the sensor to the BMC.

 4. Component Description

 A. Each pressure transducer consists of a housing and an attachment plate. The attachment plate has three holes to install the transducer on the bracket. On one side, the housing has a pneumatic port for the sensing line. On the opposite side, there is an electrical connector. In the pressure transducer, a measure cell contains a silicide plate. This cell is a part of the resistance bridge (Wheatstone bridge). The housing also contains a section for the signal amplification.
 B. Each temperature sensor consists of a housing with a threaded portion and a sealed tube on one side. On the opposite side, there is an electrical connector. The tube contains two sensitive elements. Each electrical resistance of the sensitive elements is analyzed in two different receivers.

 A. Pressure Indication
 Two pressure transducers read the:

 -transferred relative static pressure (downstream of the HP valve),
 -regulated relative static pressure (downstream of the PRV). They transmit signals to the connected BMCs which monitors the pressure. The BMC prepares the data for the Built In Test Equipment (BITE) (analyze maintenance of the HPV and the PRV). Additionally the BMCs send ARINC data to the SDACs which use it to prepare ECAM display information. The lower ECAM display unit shows the pressure on the BLEED page in green. If the pressure is too high, it is shown in amber.

 The MAIN FUNCTIONS of the bleed transferred pressure transducer 7HA1(2) are:

 -
to activate the HP VALVE FAULT ECAM WARNING if the TRANSFERRED PRESSURE is lower than 23 PSI during more than 15 sec. and the HP bleed valve full closed.

 -
to activate the AIR ENG ABNORMAL PRESS ECAM warning. If the transducer 7HAi1(2) is failed, there is no impact on the ECAM bleed pressure indication.

 The MAIN FUNCTIONS of the bleed regulated pressure transducer 8HA1(2) are:

 -
to activate the AIR ENG BLEED FAULT ECAM warning if the REGULATED pressure is greater than 57 PSI during more than 15 sec. and the bleed pressure regulator valve not full closed.

 -
to activate the WING ANTI ICE INOP ECAM STATUS (generated by the zone controller via the BMC) when there is not enough bleed air available to supply the wing anti ice system, that is when the REGULATED PRESSURE is out of the 12/60 PSI range.

 -
to activate the AIR ENG ABNORMAL PRESS ECAM warning if the REGULATED PRESSURE lower than 23 PSI and TRANSFERRED PRESSURE in between 12/38 PSI range.

to transmit the information of REGULATED PRESSURE for display on the BLEED ECAM page.
