F. Leading Edge Standby Shutoff Valve Removal
SUBTASK 27-81-91-020-001
(1) Remove the valve [13]:
(a) Disconnect the electrical connector [1] from the valve motor [2].
(b) Remove the four screws [5] and washers [6] that attach the valve to the hydraulic module
housing [].
(c) Put a 5 gallon (19 liter) container, STD-1154 below the valve [13] to catch hydraulic fluid that
drains from the valve [13].
(d) Carefully lift the valve [13] straight up to remove it from the standby flight controls hydraulic
module.
(e) Put a cover on the hydraulic module housing to keep contamination out of the open valve
hole.

(1) If they are not installed, install the packing [9], backup rings [8], packings [11] and backup rings
[12]:
(a) Apply fluid, D00153 or MCS 352B fluid, D00054 to the packing [9], backup rings [8], packings
[11] and backup rings [12].
(b) Install the packing [9], backup rings [8], packings [11] and backup rings [12] on the valve
[13].

(2) Install the valve [13]:
(a) Carefully install the valve [13] in the hydraulic module housing [10].
(b) Install the screws [5] and washers [5] to attach the valve [13] to the hydraulic module
housing [10].
(c) Install the lockwire on the screws [5].
(d) Before you connect the electrical connector [1], examine the connector for corrosion.

WARNING: DO THE STEPS BELOW IF THE AIRPLANE OPERATES AT AIRPORTS WHERE
DEICING FLUID THAT CONTAIN POTASSIUM FORMATE IS USED. ALSO DO THE
STEPS FOR ALL AIRPLANES THAT YOU FOUND CORROSION IN THE
ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS IN THE MAIN WHEEL WELL. THE ELECTRICAL
CONNECTOR IS PART OF A SYSTEM THAT IS NECESSARY FOR SAFE FLIGHT.
(e) If there is corrosion, refer to (SWPM 20-60-03) to correct the problem.
(f) Apply the D5026NS or ZC-026 compound, G50171 to the connector (SWPM 20-60-03).
(g) Connect the electrical connector [1] to the valve motor [2].
NOTE: Corrosion inhibiting compound is applied to the exterior of the mated electrical
connectors after the operational test is completed.
F. Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition
