E. Actuator Installation
SUBTASK 27-62-94-420-001
(1) Connect the hydraulic lines [9]:
(a) Remove the caps from the hydraulic ports.
(b) Apply MCS 352B fluid, D00054 or fluid, D00153 to the packing [16], packing [17], union [15]
and restrictor [18].

(c) Install the packing [16], packing [17], union [15], and restrictor [18] in the actuator
assembly [10].
SUBTASK 27-62-94-420-002
(2) Install the actuator assembly [10]:
(a) Put the actuator assembly [10] in its position and make sure the hydraulic lines [9] align
with the fittings.
(b) Install pillow blocks [11] on the actuator assembly [10]:
1) Apply grease, D00633 to the split ball bearings [12].
2) Assemble the split ball bearings [12].
3) Install split ball bearings [12] in pillow blocks [11].
4) Make sure the split ball bearings [12] move freely.
5) Apply compound, C00913 to the bolts [13].
6) Install the bolts [13] and washers [14].
7) Tighten the bolts [13] to 225-275 pounds-inches (25.4-31.1 newton-meters).
(c) Connect the piston rod to the ground spoiler [1]:
1) Apply grease, D00633 to all surfaces of the bolt [2], bushing [4] and bushing [5].
2) Install the bolt [2], washer [3], bushing [4], bushing [5] washer [6], nut [7] and pin [8] in
the piston rod.
3) Tighten the nut [7] to 660-780 pound-inches (74.6-88.1 newton-meters).

(3) Connect the hydraulic lines [9] to the actuator assembly [10]:
(a) Remove the plugs from the hydraulic lines [9].
(b) Connect the hydraulic lines [9] to the actuator assembly [10].
(c) Tighten the hydraulic fittings.

(4) Do this task: Put the Speed Brake Systems A and B Back to the Condition Before the
Pressure Removal, TASK 27-62-00-840-802.

(5) Do this task: Speed Brake Hydraulic Systems A and B Pressurization,
TASK 27-62-00-800-801.

(6) Move the speed brake control lever to bleed the spoiler actuators.

(7) Make sure there is no leakage of hydraulic fluid at the actuator assembly [10].

F. Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition.
