(1) If you need to operate the trailing edge flaps while the leading edge flaps and slats are
deactivated, do this task: Trailing Edge Flap System Operation With Leading Edge Flaps and
Slats Disabled, TASK 27-51-00-860-805.

(2) If hydraulic systems A and B are pressurized, do this task: Hydraulic System A or B Power
Removal, TASK 29-11-00-860-805.

G. Deactivate the Leading Edge Flaps and Slats in the Retract (UP) Position

(1) Attach a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag on the flap control lever and the ALTERNATE FLAPS switches.

(2) Move the manual override handle on the LE cruise depressurization valve to the OFF position
(Figure 201):

(a) Remove the lockwire from the manual override handle on the LE cruise depressurization
valve.
(b) Move the manual override handle on the LE cruise depressurization valve to the OFF
position.
NOTE: Do not force movement of the handle with tools.
(c) If you cannot move the manual override handle, use the FSEU to operate the LE cruise
depressurization valve:
1) To get access to the main equipment center, do this step:

2) Do this task: Supply Electrical Power, TASK 24-22-00-860-811.
3) Push the ON/OFF button on the front panel of the FSEU to turn on the display.
NOTE: The display will show EXISTING FAULTS?
4) Push the NO button until OTHER FUNCTNS? shows on the display.
5) Push the YES button to select OTHER FUNCTNS? on the FSEU.
6) Push the YES button to select SET OUTPUTS? from the OTHER FUNCTNS? menu.
7) Push the YES button to select LE DEPR VALVE? from the SET OUTPUTS? menu.
WARNING: MAKE SURE YOU MOVE THE MANUAL OVERRIDE HANDLE TO THE OFF
POSITION AND INSTALL THE RIG PIN IN LESS THAN 75 SECONDS. THE
FSEU WILL AUTOMATICALLY CHANGE THE POSITION OF THE VALVE
AND THE OVERRIDE HANDLE AFTER 75 SECONDS. THE MANUAL
OVERRIDE HANDLE CAN MOVE SUDDENLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO
PERSONS.
8) Push the YES button at the SET ON? display.
NOTE: This will drive the valve to the closed position.
9) Move the manual override handle on the LE cruise depressurization valve to the OFF
position.
NOTE: Do not force movement of the handle with tools.
10) If you still cannot move the manual override handle on the LE cruise depressurization
valve, then do these steps:
WARNING: KEEP PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT CLEAR OF THE FLIGHT CONTROL
SURFACES, THE THRUST REVERSERS, AND THE LANDING GEAR.
THESE COMPONENTS CAN MOVE SUDDENLY WHEN YOU SUPPLY
HYDRAULIC POWER. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS AND
DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
a) Supply system B hydraulic power, do this task: Hydraulic System A or B
Pressurization, TASK 29-11-00-860-801.
b) Move the flap control lever to the UP position to retract the flaps and slats.
c) Remove system B hydraulic power, do this task: Hydraulic System A or B Power
Removal, TASK 29-11-00-860-805.
d) Use the FSEU to operate the valve again.

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THERE IS A -1003 VALVE INSTALLED ON THE AIRPLANE. THE
OLDER -1001 VALVE WILL PERMIT MOVEMENT OF THE LEADING EDGE FLAPS
AND SLATS, EVEN WITH THE LOCKOUT PIN SPL-1746 INSTALLED IN THE CRUISE
DEPRESSURIZATION VALVE HANDLE WHEN HYDRAULIC POWER IS SUPPLIED.
THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE AIRPLANE.
(d) Install the lockout pin tool, SPL-1746 in the manual override handle of the cruise
depressurization valve to keep the handle in the OFF position.
(e) Attach a DO-NOT-REMOVE tag on the rig pin or tool, SPL-1746.

(3) Open this circuit breaker and install safety tag:
