E. Auto Speed Brake Actuator Removal
SUBTASK 27-62-31-020-001
(1) Disconnect the electrical connector [17] from the auto speed brake actuator assembly [16].
SUBTASK 27-62-31-020-002
(2) Remove the nut [8], washer [6] and bolt [5] and disconnect the bonding jumper [7].
SUBTASK 27-62-31-020-003
(3) Remove the pin [13], nut [12] washer [11] and bolt [10] that connect the auto speed brake
actuator assembly [16] to the brake lever [15].
SUBTASK 27-62-31-020-004
(4) Remove the lockwire [3], washer [2] and bolt [1] that connect the auto speed brake actuator
assembly [16] to the structure.
SUBTASK 27-62-31-020-005
(5) Remove the auto speed brake actuator assembly [16] from the airplane.

SUBTASK 27-62-31-480-001
(1) Install the rig pin S/B-1 from the test rig pin kit, SPL-1585.
(a) Adjust the speed brake mechanism if you cannot easily install the rig pin:
1) Remove the nut [26], washer [25] and bolt [24] to disconnect the top end of the lower
control rod [14] from the idler link [23].
2) Install the rig pin S/B-1.
3) Loosen the checknut [27] and adjust the lower control rod [14] end until you can install
the bolt [24].
4) Install the bolt [24], washer [25] and nut [26] to attach the lower control rod [14] end to
the idler link [23].
5) Tighten the checknut [27] on the rod end.
