F. Leading Edge Slat Proximity Sensor Removal
SUBTASK 27-88-11-020-001
(1) Do these steps to remove the inboard proximity sensor [4]:
NOTE: The inboard proximity sensors [24] are installed on slats 1 thru 8.
(a) Disconnect the wires at the splice.
(b) For slat No. 1 or 8, remove the nuts [8], washers [7], spacer [1], shim [3], and bolts [5].
(c) For slats No. 2, 3, 6 or 7, remove the nuts [8], washers [7], spacer [2], shim [3] and bolts [5].
(d) For slat No. 4 or 5, remove the nuts [8], washers [7], shim [3] and bolts [15].
(e) Remove the proximity sensor [4].
SUBTASK 27-88-11-020-002
(2) Do these steps to remove the outboard proximity sensor [4]:
NOTE: The outboard proximity sensors [24] are installed on slats 1 thru 8.
(a) Disconnect the wires at the splice.
(b) Remove the spacer [1], shim [3], washers [7] and bolts [16].

(c) Remove the proximity sensor [4].
SUBTASK 27-88-11-020-003
(3) Do these steps to remove the retract proximity sensor [24]:
NOTE: The retract proximity sensors [24] are installed on slats 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7.
(a) Remove the slat actuator door [23] from the slat actuator to get access to the mid proximity
sensor [24];
1) Remove the nuts [19], washers [18] and bolts [17].
2) Remove the nuts [22], washers [21], and bolts [20] that attach the slat actuator door [23]
and the bracket to the slat actuator.
3) Remove the slat actuator door [23].
4) Temporarily install the bolts [20], washers [21] and nuts [22] to attach the bracket to the
slat actuator.
(b) Disconnect the electrical connector from the retract proximity sensor [24].
(c) Remove the fasteners [25] to remove the retract proximity sensor [24].
