F. Leading Edge Flap Proximity Sensor Removal
SUBTASK 27-88-11-020-004
(1) Remove the proximity sensor [44]:
(a) Disconnect the wires at the splice.
(b) To remove the proximity sensor [44] from the leading edge flap, remove the nuts [43],
washers [42], and bolts [41].
(c) To remove the proximity sensor [44] from the structure, remove the washers [42], shim [46]
and bolts [47].
(d) Remove the proximity sensor [44].

(1) Install the flap proximity sensor [44]:
(a) Apply a thin coat of compound, C00913 to the threads of the bolts [41] or [47].
(b) To install the proximity sensor [44] on the leading edge flap, install the bolts [41], washers
[42] and nuts [43].
(c) To install the proximity sensor [44] on the structure, install the bolts [47], shim [46] and
washers [42].
(d) Find the same color wires and make a splice.

(e) Attach the wires together to make a bundle.
SUBTASK 27-88-11-820-001
(2) With the flap in the extend position, make sure the gap between the proximity sensor [44] and the
target [45] is 0.115-0.135 inch (2.92-3.43 millimeters).
(a) If the gap is out of tolerance, adjust the gap between the proximity sensor [44] and the
target [45].
1) Remove the bolts [47], washers [42] and shim [46].
2) Add or remove shim [46] as it is necessary to get the correct gap between the proximity
sensor [44] and the target [45].
3) Install the bolts [47] and washers [42].
4) Bond shims [46] to the support bracket with adhesive, A00165.
G. Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition
