E. Outboard Ground Spoiler Actuator Functional Test

(1) Move the speed brake lever to the UP position to lift the spoilers.

(2) Make sure the spoilers No. 1 and 12 are 60 +/-2 degrees up from the retracted position.

(3) Make sure the ground spoilers No. 1 and 12 align in the limit of 2 degrees.

(4) Move the speed brake lever to the DOWN position to lower the spoilers.

(5) Make sure the spoilers move to the fully retracted position.

(6) Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition
(a) Do this task: Put the Spoiler Hydraulic systems A and B Back to the Condition Before
the Pressurization, TASK 27-61-00-840-801.
(b) Remove the protractor, COM-1691 from the spoilers No. 1 and 12.

OUTBOARD GROUND SPOILER ACTUATOR - INSPECTION/CHECK
1. General
A. This task supplies the data for a dimensional inspection of the outboard ground spoiler actuator.
B. This task does not remove or install the outboard ground spoiler actuator, refer to the Outboard
Ground Spoiler Actuator - Removal/Installation for procedures to remove and install the outboard
ground spoiler actuator.

(1) This procedure gives wear limits and repair data for the outboard ground spoiler actuator.

SUBTASK 27-62-94-020-009
(1) Remove the outboard ground spoiler actuator. To remove it, do this task: Outboard Ground
Spoiler Actuator Removal, TASK 27-62-94-000-801.
SUBTASK 27-62-94-020-010
(2) Use these tools to check for wear on the parts of the outboard ground spoiler actuator:
(a) micrometer (0-1 Inch, readable to 1/1000 Inch), STD-1096
(b) readable to 1/1000 inch vernier 0 - 6 inch caliper, STD-1097

(3) Examine the parts of the outboard ground spoiler actuator for worn areas:
(a) Remove the parts to be checked.
(b) Measure the bolts, bearing, and bushings as necessary with a micrometer (0-1 Inch,
readable to 1/1000 Inch), STD-1096 or a readable to 1/1000 inch vernier 0 - 6 inch caliper,
STD-1097.
(c) Compare the dimensions you measured with the permitted wear dimensions that follow.
(d) If the parts are not in the tolerance, replace the part as required.
