E. Actuator Installation
SUBTASK 27-62-71-420-001
(1) Install the actuator [17]:
(a) Remove the caps from the hydraulic ports of the actuator [17].
(b) Put the actuator [17] in its position and make sure the hydraulic lines [10] align with the
fittings.
(c) Connect the actuator [17] rod end to the inboard ground spoiler [1]:
1) Apply grease, D00633 to the bolt [2].
2) Install bolt [2] with the head outboard, washer [3], bushing [4], washer [5], nut [6], and
pin [7].
3) Tighten nut to 450-690 pound-inches (50.8-78.0 newton-meters).
(d) Connect the actuator [17] to the structure:
1) Apply grease, D00633 to the bolt [2].
2) Install bolt [11] with the head outboard, washer [12], bushing [13], washer [14], nut [15],
and pin [16].

3) Tighten nut to 450-690 pound-inches (50.8-78.0 newton-meters).

(2) Connect the hydraulic lines [10] to the actuator [17]:
(a) Remove the plugs from the hydraulic lines [10].
(b) Connect the hydraulic lines [10] to the actuator [17].
(c) Tighten the hydraulic fittings.

(3) Do this task: Put the Speed Brake Systems A and B Back to the Condition Before the
Pressure Removal, TASK 27-62-00-840-802.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF ALL CONTROL
SURFACES BEFORE YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. AILERONS, RUDDERS,
ELEVATORS, FLAPS, SLATS, SPOILERS, LANDING GEAR, AND THRUST REVERSERS
CAN MOVE QUICKLY WHEN YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. THIS CAN CAUSE
INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(4) Do this task: Speed Brake Hydraulic Systems A and B Pressurization,
TASK 27-62-00-800-801.

(5) Move the speed brake control lever through its full cycle to bleed the spoiler actuators.

(6) Make sure there are no leaks at the hydraulic lines.

(7) Do the adjustment of the outboard ground spoiler acutator. To adjust it, do this task: Ground
Spoiler Adjustment, TASK 27-62-00-820-804.

(8) Do this task: Inboard Ground Spoiler Acutator Test, TASK 27-62-71-000-802.
F. Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition.

(1) Do this task: Retract the Trailing Edge Flaps, TASK 27-51-00-860-804.
SUBTASK 27-62-71-860-010
(2) Do this task: Put the Speed Brake Hydraulic systems A and B Back to the Condition Before
the Pressurization, TASK 27-62-00-840-801.
