D. Prepare for the Removal

(1) Do this task: Supply Electrical Power, TASK 24-22-00-860-811.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF ALL CONTROL
SURFACES BEFORE YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. AILERONS, RUDDERS,
ELEVATORS, FLAPS, SLATS, SPOILERS, LANDING GEAR, AND THRUST REVERSERS
CAN MOVE QUICKLY WHEN YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. THIS CAN CAUSE
INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(2) Do this task: Speed Brake Hydraulic Systems A and B Pressurization,
TASK 27-62-00-800-801.

(3) Do this task: Extend the Trailing Edge Flaps, TASK 27-51-00-860-803.

(4) Put the SPOILER A and B switches to the OFF position to remove the hydraulic power from the
flight spoilers.
NOTE: SPOILER A AND B switches are on the flight control panel (P5-3).

(5) Put the speed brake lever in the UP position to lift the ground spoilers.

(6) Install the set, SPL-1743 for the applicable ground spoiler.

(7) Do this task: Put the Speed Brake Hydraulic systems A and B Back to the Condition Before
the Pressurization, TASK 27-62-00-840-801.
E. Outboard Ground Spoiler Removal
SUBTASK 27-62-91-020-001
(1) Remove the pin [24], nut [23], washer [22], bushing [21], bushing [20], washer [19] and bolt [18]
that attaches the rod end of the actuator assembly [25] to the outboard ground spoiler [1].

(2) Remove nut [2] and washers [3] and disconnect the bonding jumper [10] from the structure.

(3) Remove nut [32] and washers [33] and disconnect the bonding jumper [40] from the structure.

(4) Remove the outboard ground spoiler [1]:
(a) Remove pin [9], nut [8], washer [7], bushings [6], washer [5] and bolt [4] to disconnect the
outboard hinge fitting.
(b) Remove pin [16], nut [15], washer [14], bushing [13], washer [12] and bolt [11] to disconnect
the center left hinge fitting.
(c) Remove pin [31], nut [30], washer [29], bushing [28], washer [27] and bolt [26] to disconnect
the center right hinge fitting.
(d) Remove pin [39], nut [38], washer [37], bushing [36], washer [35] and bolt [34] to disconnect
the inboard hinge fitting.
(e) Remove the outboard ground spoiler [1] from the airplane.
