4. Leading Edge Slats Adjustment
A. General
(1) You must adjust the leading edge slats with the wing unsupported outboard of the engine
nacelle. You can adjust the leading edge slats with the airplane on the gear or on jacks inboard
of the engine nacelle. The airplane must not have fuel on the outboard wing.
(2) It is recommended that you do all the steps in this task, the full slat adjustment, for the most
consistent and lowest drag adjustment.
(3) Where time and/or airplane condition do not support the use of the full slat adjustment, a
minimum slat adjustment is permitted. Use of this minimum slat adjustment can result in
increased drag compared with the full slat adjustment. In this task, all the steps that are not
necessary for a minimum slat adjustment will be identified.
