As appropriate - L or R ENG OIL QUANTITY INDICATION INOP MAINTENANCE (M)
Fill associated engine oil tank (AMM 12-13-01/301).
WARNING: WAIT FOR A MINIMUM OF FIVE MINUTES BEFORE YOU REMOVE THE OIL TANK CAP AFTER ENGINE SHUTDOWN. THE PRESSURE IN THE TANK CAN CAUSE A SPRAY OF HOT OIL WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
Examine engine exterior, including fan stream area, for evidence of oil leakage.
Check associated engine’s records to ensure oil consumption is within engine manufacturer’s limits (AMM 71-00-00/201) or operator’s approved limits (if more restrictive).

Position the EICAS computer selector on the forward electronics panel to AUTO, L, or R as necessary to display both engine oil temperatures at the same time.

Engine Start Procedure
1. Start associated engine first, using pneumatic duct pressure indication to ensure that the start valve has closed. Use normal start procedures except:
Place engine bleed air switch for associated engine in OFF position. NOTE: All pneumatic duct isolation switches should be ON.
When ENG START selector is moved to GND position, observe a drop in duct pressure, followed by a partial recovery.
After engine reaches 53% N2:
