MAINTENANCE (M)
When EICAS status message L or R ENG TURB COOL is displayed, review the EPCS maintenance page. A lenticular air seal overheat event is indicated if the L or R ENG TURB COOL status message and P(S) 354-20 EPCS maintenance message are both displayed. Follow maintenance procedures required for the P(S) 354-20 EPCS maintenance message, if it is displayed.
To secure the associated valves open:
A. Open the fan duct cowl and thrust reverser right half (AMM 78-31-00/201).
B. Deactivate the turbine cooling air system by
Removing bolt and nut from the threaded rod end and the actuator shaft clevis, and
Moving the threaded rod end down to attach the connecting rod to the hole provided in the upper shelf of the bracket assembly, using the bolt and nut removed in step 2.B.1). Torque the nut to 36 to 40 in. lb.
C. Close the fan duct cowl and thrust reverser right half (AMM 78-31-00/201).
D. Erase the EICAS status message.
NOTE: Status message L(R) ENG TURB COOL may be ignored after de-activation provided EPCS Maintenance message 354-20 does not appear. For all other EPCS messages, dispatch is allowed with L(R) ENG TURB COOL Status message displayed.
