OPERATIONS (O)
If center tank fuel is to be used:
 
1. Ensure compliance with AD 2002-24-51.
2. The FUEL CONFIG light will illuminate when there is fuel in the center tank that exceeds 600 kilograms and the center tank fuel pump switches are OFF. Do not accomplish the associated non-normal procedure prior to or during takeoff with less than 2,300 kilograms of center tank fuel, unless there is an imbalance between main tanks or fuel is low in either main tank. After canceling the FUEL CONFIG light, monitor fuel quantity indications and accomplish the appropriate non-normal procedure if a main tank imbalance or main tank low fuel quantity occurs.

APU control panel - APU FUEL VLV INOP
MAINTENANCE (M)
Secure APU Fuel Shutoff Valve closed:
1. Open and collar FUEL S/O VLV - APU circuit breaker on main power distribution panel P6.
2. Gain access to dry side of center tank rear spar and locate actuator.
A. Check that landing gear downlocks are installed (AMM 32-00-20).
WARNING: REFER TO AMM 32-00-15 FOR LOCK INSTALLATION PROCEDURE. RAPID ACTION OF
DOORS MAY CAUSE INJURY OR DAMAGE IF LOCKS ARE NOT PROPERLY INSTALLED.
B. Open main gear doors and install door locks.
3. Remove, cap and stow electrical connector from actuator.
4. Lockwire manual override lever in CLOSED position.
5. Notify dispatch that the APU is inoperative.

PLACARD
Airplane flight log as appropriate - DEFUEL VLV(S) INOP MAINTENANCE (M)
1. Open and collar the DEFUEL VALVES circuit breaker on miscellaneous relay panel P70 (P34 panel on cargo airplanes).
2. Locate the defueling valve actuator on the dry side of the inboard rear spar just inboard of each center tank end rib. Access is through the main landing gear shock strut door.
3. Lockwire actuator manual override handle in the CLOSED position.
