NOTE 2: The crew can observe the aileron trim indication on the control wheel to determine a changing trim condition. At cruising airspeeds an imbalance of 700 kgs will require approximately one unit
of aileron displacement to hold wings level, while 1800 kgs will require 2 units of aileron displacement.
NOTE 3: After landing following a flight that was dispatched with one fuel flow indicator inoperative under this MEL item, the FMC may determine Flight Completion during high speed taxi. When this occurs, the IRU residual ground speed may be set at a level above the 21 knots the Maintenance Manual establishes as the threshold to require replacement of the IRU. Under these circumstances, it is not required that the IRU be replaced.

MAINTENANCE NOTE
1. Disconnect the Fuel Flow Transmitter. Refer to AMM 73-31-01/401 Fuel Flow Transmitter Removal/
Installation.
 Supply electrical power (Ref AMM 24-22-00/201).
 Make sure that the applicable engine and spar valves are closed as follows:
1) Close the following circuit breakers on the P6 main power distribution panel.
 FUEL COND CONT L (left engine); FUEL COND CONT R (right engine).
 FUEL VALVES L SPAR (left engine); FUEL VALVES R SPAR (right engine).
2) Put the applicable panel FUEL CONTROL switch in the CUTOFF position.
3) Make sure the applicable panel lights for the ENG VALVE and SPAR VALVE on the control
stand are off.
4) Open and collar the following circuit breakers on the P6 main power distribution panel:
 
 FUEL COND CONT L (left engine); FUEL COND CONT R (right engine).
 FUEL VALVES L SPAR (left engine); FUEL VALVES R SPAR (right engine).
 Open the left (right) fan cowl panel (AMM 71-11-04).
WARNING: DO THE THRUST REVERSER DEACTIVATION PROCEDURE TO PREVENT THE
OPERATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER. THE ACCIDENTAL OPERATION OF THE
THRUST REVERSER CAN CAUSE INJUURIES TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO
EQUIPMENT.
 Deactivate the thrust reverser for ground maintenance as described in AMM 78-31-00.
 Open the left (right) core cowl panel (AMM 71-11-06).
 Open the left (right) thrust reverser (AMM 71-31-00).
 Disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel flow transmitter. Cap and stow all affected wires.
 Install a protection cap over the transmitter connector.
 Return the airplane to normal.
OPERATIONS NOTE
The MEL relief for this item is for one inoperative fuel flow sensor located on the engine. FMC calculated fuel quantity normally displayed on the FMC progress page will be inoperative and not displayed when one FF sensor is inoperative. In case of enroute failure of the FQIS calculated total fuel quantity, flight crew should keep a fuel log for the remainder of the flight (sample fuel log provided below):
