MAINTENANCE (M)
1. See following illustrations for location and sketches of typical fuel sump drain valves.
2. Visually inspect exterior of valve location for evidence of fuel leakage. If there appears to be fuel leakage, ensure that the leakage rate is within tolerances specified in AMM 28-11-00-600 (Inspection/ Check). Sump Drain Valves are considered to be lower wing surfaces that do not have fairings.
NOTE: Since fuel sampling procedures vary considerably between operators, the individual operator should assure themselves that refueling equipment has not accumulated moisture before and after each fuel service.

  B757 - 200 MINIMUM EQUIPMENT LIST

NOTE 1: 900 kilograms of fuel may be loaded in the center tank with less than full wing tanks, provided the weight of fuel in the center tank plus actual Zero Fuel Weight does not exceed Maximum Zero Fuel Weight, and balance limits are observed.

Airplane flight log as appropriate - PRESS FUELING SYS INOP; ___ FUEL SHUTOFF VLV(S) INOP MAINTENANCE (M)
NOTE 1: Any fill valve that operates normally may be used.
NOTE 2: Auto overfill system may be overridden with overfill reset switch to fuel aircraft. Pressure Fueling System Inoperative:
1. Utilize individual components of pressure fuel system which operate normally.
2. If the entire system is inoperative, fuel airplane from above the wing in accordance with AMM procedures.
3. If the automatic function of the fuel shutoff valve(s) is inoperative, then utilize the manual electric function of the same valve(s) in accordance with AMM procedures.
Fuel Shutoff Valve Inoperative Closed:
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THERE IS NO PRESSURE IN THE FUELING MANIFOLD BEFORE YOU TURN
THE MANUAL OVERRIDE KNOB. DAMAGE TO THE VALVE OR THE MANIFOLD CAN OCCUR.
1. Gain access to the inoperative fuel shutoff valves(s).
2. Remove lockwire on the manual override knob.
3. Use manual override knob to open the fuel shutoff valve.

4. Fuel airplane in accordance with established procedures.
5. Use the manual override knob to close the fuel shutoff valve.
6. Replace lockwire on the manual override knob.
 

 
NOTE: The minimum fuel quantities specified provide sufficient fuel to ensure the operable main tank pump’s inlet and suction bypass inlet will remain covered at expected pitch attitudes during takeoff and landing.

Deactivate the inoperative pump:
