Auto brakes selector - AUTO BRAKES INOP
MAINTENANCE (M)
To verify that the autobrake solenoid valve is closed, do the following procedure:
Apply electrical power to the airplane.
Chock the wheels.
Release the parking brake.
Retard both thrust levers.
Place the AUTO BRAKES selector switch to OFF.
Pressurize the right hydraulic system.
If the AUTO BRAKES light is not illuminated, the autobrake solenoid valve is closed. The airplane can
be dispatched per the MEL without further maintenance action.
8. If the AUTO BRAKES light remains illuminated:
Depressurize the right and left hydraulic systems.
Pump the brake pedals until the brake accumulator pressure gage on the First Officer's panel will reduce no further (approximately 1300 psi).
If the AUTO BRAKES light remains illuminated, the autobrake solenoid valve is closed (the autobrake solenoid valve pressure switch or indication system has a fault). The airplane can be dispatched per the MEL without further maintenance action.
If the AUTO BRAKES light is not illuminated, the autobrake solenoid valve has failed open and the autobrake valve module must be deactivated per step 2.
To deactivate the autobrake module, do the following procedure:
1. Depressurize the right and left hydraulic systems.
2. Depressurize the right hydraulic system reservoir (AMM 29-11-00).
3. Pump the brake pedals until the brake accumulator pressure gage on the First Officer's panel will reduce no further (approximately 1300 psi)
