1. The COMPARATOR BITE status message must be resolved prior to dispatch. Select ALTN on either the Captain’s or the First Officer’s instrument source select EFI switch. If the message does not extinguish, refer to FIM 34-22-00.
2. Left EFIS Symbol Generator Inoperative:
Verify the Captain’s and First Officer’s symbol generators are isolated by performing the following:
 With Captain’s EFI switch in ALT and the First Officer’s EFI switch in normal (BLANK) configuration, place the First Officer's HSI Mode Selector to the VOR (expanded) mode and the Captain's HSI Mode Selector to either the ILS or APP (expanded) mode, as appropriate.
 Observe that VOR R is annunciated on the First Officer's HSI.
 Placard Captain’s EFI switch - EFI NORM INOP.
3. Center EFIS Symbol Generator Inoperative:
Verify the Captain’s and First Officer’s symbol generators are isolated by performing the following:
 With Captain's and First Officer’s EFI switch in normal (BLANK) configuration, place the First Officer's HSI Mode Selector to the VOR (expanded) mode and the Captain's HSI Mode Selector to either the ILS or APP (expanded) mode, as appropriate.
 Observe that VOR R is annunciated on the First Officer's HSI.
 Place the Captain's HSI Mode Selector to the VOR (expanded) mode and the First Officer's HSI Mode Selector to either the ILS or APP (expanded) mode, as appropriate.
 Observe that VOR L is annunciated on the Captain's HSI.
