2. Flight dispatch is permitted with the BRAKE SOURCE indicator light and associated EICAS advisory message inoperative if the following procedures are taken. Check that normal and alternate hydraulic brake systems, and brake accumulator are operational:
Check that landing gear down locks are installed (AMM 32-00-20) and wheels are adequately chocked.
Release parking brakes by depressing both Captain's or First Officer's brake pedals to the stops and releasing.
Pressurize the right hydraulic system with one electric pump. Observe R SYS PRESS light is not illuminated.
Depress and release both captain's or first officer's brake pedals ten times minimum. Brake pressure gauge should dip momentarily (2000 to 2500 psi) at each brake application.
NOTE: Both brake pedals should be depressed and released at the same time. Pause a minimum of five seconds after each brake application before the next application.
Check that BRAKE PRESS pressure gage on first officer's main instrument panel P3 indicates 2850 to 3500 psig.
Pressurize the left hydraulic system with one electric pump, observe L SYS PRESS light is not illuminated.
Depressurize the right hydraulic system, observe R SYS PRESS light illuminates.
Depress and release both captain's or first officer's brake pedals seven times minimum. Observe that brake pressure gauge does not dip with brake application.
Check that BRAKE PRESS pressure gage on P3 panel indicates 2850 to 3500 psig.
Depressurize the left hydraulic system.
Depress and release both captain's or first officer's brake pedals seven times minimum.
Check that BRAKE PRESS pressure gage on P3 panel indicates a lower value each time the brakes are applied. Final pressure should be about 1150 - 1500 psig.
Ensure brake accumulator is correctly serviced. Restore airplane to its required configuration. OPERATIONS (O)
Use the EICAS advisory level BRAKE SOURCE message for the non-normal checklist procedure in lieu of the BRAKE SOURCE light.

After takeoff, leave the landing gear extended for a minimum of two minutes to allow the wheels to spin down prior to gear retraction.
