Hydraulic control panel as appropriate - L (C or R) SYS PRESS LIGHT INOP MAINTENANCE (M)
The associated HYD SYS PRESS EICAS indication is driven by the same pressure switch that drives the Hydraulic Low SYS PRESS Light. If the light is inoperative due to a failure of the hydraulic system pressure switch, dispatch is not allowed until repairs are made (AMM 29-11-17). Verify the hydraulic system pressure switch (and the associated HYD SYS PRESS EICAS indication) operates normally as follows:
1. Select all hydraulic pumps OFF.
2. Verify that the associated L (C or R) HYD SYS PRESS caution message is displayed on EICAS.
3. Select associated ACMP ON.
4. Verify that the associated L (C or R) HYD SYS PRESS caution message is not displayed on EICAS.

Check affected left engine driven pump operation as follows. These same steps may also be accomplished under the OPERATIONS (O) procedure:
CAUTION: DURING GROUND OPERATION OF THE AFFECTED PUMP, TO PREVENT HYDRAULIC
PUMP DAMAGE FROM OVERHEAT, DO NOT OPERATE PUMPS WITHOUT MINIMUM QUANTITIES OF FUEL IN TANKS (REF. AMM 29-11-00).
1. Left engine driven pump and PTU control logic verification:
A. With the flaps in the up position, select left and right engines off.
B. Ensure HYDRAULICS PTU CONT circuit breaker on the P11 panel is closed.
C. Select right system pumps on (EMP and EDP).
D. Select left system EDP on and EMP off.
E. Start right engine.
F. Verify left system pressure on EICAS is greater than or equal to 2600 psi.
G. Start left engine.
H. Verify left system pressure on EICAS is greater than or equal to 2850 psi.
I. Open the HYDRAULICS PTU CONT circuit breaker on the P11 panel to remove power from PTU control valve.
