MAINTENANCE (M)
1. If the light is failed OFF as determined by the following procedure, placard REV ISLN light INOP.
Open the LEFT or RIGHT ENGINE T/R IND circuit breaker.
The REV ISLN light should illuminate, and the REV ISLN VAL (or, on some airplanes, L or R REV ISLN VAL) advisory message should appear.
If the advisory message appears but the REV ISLN light does not illuminate, placard the light INOP.
2. If the REV ISLN light is ON, use the following procedure to determine whether the light is malfunctioning or if the reverser system has a fault:
If the REV ISLN VAL (or, on some airplanes, L or R REV ISLN VAL) advisory message is displayed on EICAS, lock the associated reverser closed in the forward thrust position per MEL Item 78-31- 1.
NOTE: On airplanes which display the REV ISLN VAL advisory message, call up the maintenance page to determine which thrust reverser is causing the fault.
If the REV ISLN VAL (or, on some airplanes, L or R REV ISLN VAL) advisory message is not displayed on EICAS, open the LEFT and RIGHT ENGINE T/R IND circuit breakers. The REV ISLN VAL (or L and R REV ISLN VAL) advisory message(s) should appear on EICAS.
NOTE: On airplanes which display the REV ISLN VAL advisory message, call up the maintenance page to verify both L and R REV ISLN VAL messages appear.
