3. L or R Off-Wing Slide Compartment Door
Verify door is faired with the fuselage.
Open maintenance access door.
Verify that round crank handle is in the locked position.
Close maintenance access door.
VERIFICATION OF OFF-WING SLIDE COMPARTMENT DOOR 4. No. 1 or 2 Cargo Doors:
EICAS Message Cargo Door
FWD CARGO DOOR No. 1 Cargo Door
AFT CARGO DOOR No. 2 Cargo Door
A. Unload cargo as necessary to place a crew member with a flashlight in the cargo bay to observe
the cargo door closing.
B. Place crew member in cargo bay.
C. Close door normally.
D. The crew member inside the bay will verify proper door closing:
Latch cranks move to the latched position (see illustration).
Movable upper stops move into position behind the upper door frame stops (see
illustration).
Vent doors close (see illustration).
All door stops align with frame stops.
E. Open cargo door (allow crewmember to exit).
F. Reload cargo as necessary.
G. Close door normally.
1) Verify door is faired with fuselage.
Verify that door handle(s) is in the proper faired/stowed position.
For No. 1 and 2 doors, verify vent doors close.
5. Main Cargo Door:
A. If the EICAS message MAIN CARGO DOOR SYS only appears on EICAS display, perform the following:
1) Arm cargo door system.
2) Verify cargo door indication system is operating:
Ensure EICAS message MAIN CARGO DOOR appears on EICAS display.
Ensure pilots overhead CARGO DOORS light illuminates.
Ensure cargo door arming switch illuminates.
3) Verify main cargo door is closed and locked:
Ensure cargo door is closed and faired.
Ensure pressure doors are closed.
Ensure four white flags are in lock view ports.
4) Install landing gear ground lock pins (AMM 32-00-20).
WARNING: GROUND LOCK PINS MUST BE INSTALLED PRIOR TO MOVING GEAR SELECT HANDLE TO THE OFF POSITION.
5) Depressurize door hydraulic circuit by placing GEAR select handle in OFF position.
6) erase “MAIN CARGO DOOR SYS” message from EICAS display.
7) Verify shut-off valve indication system fault by ensuring EICAS message MAIN CARGO DOOR SYS appears on EICAS display after 15 seconds.
B. If EICAS message MAIN CARGO DOOR SYS and another MAIN CARGO DOOR indication, or any other MAIN CARGO DOOR indication appears, then verify main cargo door is closed and locked per the following.
Ensure cargo door is closed and faired.
Ensure pressure doors are closed.
Ensure four white flags are in lock view ports.
6. Forward Access Door or Electrical/Electronic Access Door: A. Check from outside the airplane:
Door faired with fuselage.
Door latch handle faired with door.
Door does not open inward/upward when pushed upon by hand (confirms latch pin engagement).
