J. Select left EDP off.
K. Select flaps 1.
L. Verify left system pressure on EICAS is less than or equal to 1500 psi. TE FLAP DISAGREE on EICAS occurs.
NOTE: If left system pressure on EICAS is greater than 1500 psi, then the PTU is operating. A fault has occurred in the PTU control circuit.
M. Turn left system EDP on and select flaps up.
N. Verify left system pressure on EICAS is greater than or equal to 2850 psi.
O. Arm and disarm alternate flaps to clear EICAS TE FLAP DISAGREE.
P. Close HYDRAULICS PTU CONT circuit breaker on the P11 panel.
Q. Turn left system EDP off.
R. Verify left system pressure on EICAS is greater than or equal to 2600 psi.
S. Restore airplane to its required configuration.
OPERATIONS (O)
Check affected pump operation as follows:
NOTE: When running the right engine (EDP) the PTU will pressurize the FLAP/SLAT and LANDING GEAR hydraulic systems. The PTU can be deactivated by opening the HYDRAULICS PTU CONT circuit breaker on the P11 panel before engine start.
1. Right engine driven pump:
A. Ensure personnel are clear of flight controls.
B. Set the parking brake.
C. Turn right EMP OFF.
D. With right engine running, turn HYD PUMPS ENG switch ON.
E. HYD PRESS reading on EICAS must be 2850 to 3150 psig.
F. Restore airplane to its required configuration.
NOTE: If the PTU was deactivated during the test procedure, make sure the PTU is reactivated before engine start by closing the HYDRAULICS PTU CONT circuit breakers on the P11 panel.
2. Alternating current motor pump:
A. Ensure personnel are clear of flight controls.
B. With electrical power on airplane, press affected HYD PUMPS ELEC switch to ON.
C. HYD PRESS reading on EICAS must be 2850 to 3150 psig.
 
D. Restore airplane to its required configuration.
NOTE: The pump being tested must be the only pump operating within the related hydraulic system at the time of the test.
3. Left engine driven pump and PTU control logic verification:
 With the flaps in the up position, select left and right engines off.
 Ensure HYDRAULICS PTU CONT circuit breaker on the P11 panel is closed.
 Select right system pumps on (EMP and EDP).
 Select left system EDP on and EMP off.
 Start right engine.
 Verify left system pressure on EICAS is greater than or equal to 2600 psi.
 Start left engine.
 Verify left system pressure on EICAS is greater than or equal to 2850 psi.
 Open the HYDRAULICS PTU CONT circuit breaker on the P11 panel to remove power from PTU control valve.
 Select left EDP off.
 Select flaps 1.
 Verify left system pressure on EICAS is less than or equal to 1500 psi. TE FLAP DISAGREE on EICAS occurs.
NOTE: If left system pressure on EICAS is greater than 1500 psi, then the PTU is operating. A fault has occurred in the PTU control circuit.
