Ensure LANDING GEAR PARKING BRAKE VLV circuit breaker (main power distribution P6 panel) is closed.
Set parking brake by pulling PARK BRAKE handle on quadrant stand and depressing both Captain’s brake pedals to their stops and releasing.
Check that ANTISKID light on pilot’s overhead (P5 panel) is not illuminated.
Open LANDING GEAR PARKING BRAKE VLV circuit breaker.
Release the parking brake by depressing the brake pedals.
After approximately 3 seconds, verify that ANTISKID light illuminates.
Close LANDING GEAR PARKING BRAKE VLV circuit breaker and verify that ANTISKID light extinguishes.
Set parking brake by pulling PARK BRAKE handle on quadrant stand and depressing both Captain’s brake pedals to their stops and releasing.
Position and hold the configuration test switch (P61 panel) in the T/O position.
Verify PARKING BRAKE takeoff warning message is displayed.
Release parking brake.
Verify PARKING BRAKE takeoff warning message is not displayed.
Verify ANTISKID light is extinguished.
Open LANDING GEAR PARKING BRAKE VLV circuit breaker.
Verify ANTISKID light is extinguished (wait at least three seconds).
Close LANDING GEAR PARKING BRAKE VLV circuit breaker.
Restore airplane to required configuration.
OPERATIONS (O)
1. When parking brake is set, ensure advisory EICAS message PARKING BRAKE is displayed.
2. When releasing parking brake:
Check that ANTISKID light (P5 panel) is extinguished.
If ANTISKID light is illuminated, dispatch must be with antiskid system inoperative, but leave
antiskid switch (if installed) selected ON.
3. For antiskid system inoperative:
Takeoff performance must be in compliance with Actual Calculation Software and landing
performance with OM-B for antiskid inoperative.
Initiate wheel braking using light pedal pressure.
4. For the Nose Gear Parking Brake Status Indicator Light (PARKING BRAKE ON) inoperative:
Establish communications between ground and flight deck..
Notify ground crew when the parking brake is set.

REMARKS OR EXCEPTIONS
May be inoperative provided associated flight deck indication operates normally.
