D. Verify L E SLAT ASYM message appears on EICAS and amber leading edge light comes on (P3 panel).
E. Move flap lever to 15.
F. Verify that there is no flap or slat motion.
G. Move flap lever to 1.
H. With an observer watching the slats, press the left and right stall warning test switch.
I. Verify by observing that there is no slat motion.
J. Close FLAP/SLAT SHUTOFF 1 circuit breaker on panel P11.
K. Cycle FLAP/SLAT ELEC UNIT 1 PWR to clear L E SLAT ASYM FAULT.
3. Verify alternate mode is operational.
A. Cycle flaps and slats from UP to 1 and 1 to UP by using the TE and LE alternate arming switches and the alternate FLAPS/SLATS switch.
B. Check that no TE FLAPS DISAGREE or LE SLATS DISAGREE message appears on EICAS.
4. Verify that Flap Slat Electronic Units (FSEU) and/or Flap Slat Accessory Module (FSAM) operate normally by performing either step A or step B:
A. For airplanes equipped with three FSEUs, verify that all three FSEU’s operate normally by performing FSEU BITE procedure (MM 27-51-00/501). For airplanes with FSAM installed, verify that both FSEU’s and the FSAM (installed in FSEU #3 position) operate normally by performing FSEU BITE procedure (MM 27-51-00/501).
B. Verify all buses are normally powered. Check for FLAP/SLAT ELEC status message and FLAP SLAT BITE maintenance message. If either message is displayed, dispatch is not allowed.

Deactivate the inboard and outboard skew sensors on the affected flap segment: (AMM 27-59-01)
1. Extend trailing edge flaps to the 30-unit position.
WARNING: KEEP PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT AWAY FROM ALL CONTROL SURFACES WHEN HYDRAULIC POWER IS SUPPLIED. AILERONS, ELEVATORS, RUDDER, FLAPS, SLATS, SPOILERS, AND STABILIZER ARE FULLY POWERED SURFACES. INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR WHEN HYDRAULIC POWER IS SUPPLIED.
A. Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00).
B. Pressurize the associated hydraulic system (AMM 29-11-00).
C. Move the flap handle to the flaps 30 position.
2. Remove power from the associated hydraulic system (AMM 29-11-00).
3. Install PDU lock on the TE flap PDU.
4. Open and collar the following circuit breakers on the P11 panel.
A. WARN ELEX B
B. HYDRAULICS PTU CONT
C. FLAP/SLAT ACCESSORY MODULE CONT
D. FLAP/SLAT ACCESSORY MODULE SENSOR
E. FLAP/SLAT ALTN DR SHUTOFF ARM
