B. The landing minimum fuel quantity must be considered unusable.
2. For an inoperative automatic function of the left forward fuel pump:
A. Start the APU by momentarily selecting START on the APU selector.
B. Once the APU is running and AC power is available, select the left forward fuel pump ON.
NOTE: Fuel for the APU operation is supplied from the left main tank. When AC power is unavailable, fuel pressure is provided automatically by a DC fuel pump. When AC power is applied, the left forward AC fuel pump is signaled to start regardless of its position. It is this automatic function which may be inoperative.
3. For airplanes dispatching with a left, forward main tank fuel pump inoperative and equipped with a center tank fuel scavenge system, fuel remaining in the center tank after center tank pumps are selected off should be considered unusable.

To deactivate the inoperative pump:
1. Select inoperative pump OFF.
2. Open and collar the associated circuit breaker on the P6 panel.
To verify the fuel quantity in associated tank, accomplish one of the following procedures as appropriate:
1. Check the associated tank fuel quantity indicator on the fuel control P28 panel. If it operates normally, it may be used as the means of determining the quantity in the tank with the inoperative Flight Deck indicator. If it is not operating, placard it inoperative and notify the fuel crew that the automatic fueling shutoff function may be inoperative.
2. Determine the associated tank’s fuel quantity utilizing measuring sticks and the Fuel Measuring Stick Manual provided with the airplane.

NOTE: The Fuel Measuring Stick Manual provides instruction for using the measuring stick readings and a set of conversion tables that relate stick readings and airplane attitude to obtain tank quantity.
