MAINTENANCE (M)
When dispatching with the Pressure Indication System (EICAS) inoperative:
Verify that crew oxygen cylinder shutoff valve is open.
Determine crew oxygen system pressure by reading the pressure gage at the crew oxygen cylinder (bottle) in the forward cargo compartment.
Determine the ambient air temperature in the forward cargo compartment at the crew oxygen cylinder. This temperature can be estimated by the personnel checking the system pressure. It is assumed that the temperature of the oxygen in the bottle is stabilized to the same temperature as the ambient air. If this is not true, either wait 10 to 15 minutes for stabilization to occur, or measure the temperature of the oxygen cylinder directly.
Contact dispatch to determine required oxygen bottle pressure.
NOTE: Oxygen bottle(s) minimum required pressure for dispatch is available in OM-B Vol 3.
Compare the measured pressure with the required pressure. Ensure pressure is sufficient for dispatch.
CREW OXYGEN CYLINDER INSTALLATION
OPERATIONS (O)
When dispatching with the Oxygen Thermal Relief Indicator damaged or missing, verify that oxygen pressure is adequate for dispatch:
Select EICAS status page; note oxygen pressure.
Select 100% on the NORMAL/100% switch.
Push down and hold the RESET/TEST SLIDE lever.
Observe yellow cross appears momentarily in FLOW indicator.
Push and hold the EMERGENCY/TEST selector.
While holding RESET/TEST SLIDE lever down, push EMERGENCY TEST selector and observe yellow cross appears in FLOW indicator.
Observe oxygen pressure did not decrease during test.
