 When the APU is used as a bleed air source, average fuel consumption of the APU is 90 kilograms per hour.
In the event of failure of the operating A/C pack, opening the isolation valve will permit operation of the opposite side A/C pack.

(M) (O) One may be inoperative provided:
 Valve is secured closed,
 A minimum N1 is maintained on associated engine in icing conditions as follows:
70% N1 above 10,000 feet MSL,
60% N1 below 10,000 feet MSL
 Descent, approach and landing are not made in icing conditions within 5,000 feet AGL, and
 Remaining (opposite) engine bleed system operates normally.

PLACARD
Pneumatic control panel as appropriate - L(R) HPSOV INOP MAINTENANCE (M)
1. Notify dispatch. Flight operations may be affected.
2. Lock valve in closed position as outlined below.
WARNING: FAILURE TO FOLLOW AMM 78-31-00/201 COULD RESULT IN INJURY TO PERSONNEL
AND DAMAGE TO FAN COWL, CORE COWL AND FAN DUCT COWL AND THRUST REVERSER.
 Open RH engine fan duct cowl and thrust reverser.
 Rotate the manual override hex nut on the high pressure shutoff valve clockwise until the poppet valve lever falls into the lock arm assembly notch. The word “LOCKED” should be visible on the valve body beneath the cam. Make sure the poppet valve lever is not in the detent position.
NOTE 1:This locks valve in closed position. Valve must be manually wrenched from CLOSE before valve will open.
NOTE 2:A faulty, or out of calibration, over-pressure sensor could cause the HI STAGE light to illuminate and the advisory EICAS message to appear, regardless of valve position.
3. Disconnect High Stage Pilot electrical connector, cap and stow.
4. Close fan duct cowl and thrust reverser.

OPERATIONS (O)
At low engine power settings with the HPSOV closed, reduced pneumatic duct pressure and insufficient air supply may cause the associated air conditioning pack to shut down.
1. Maintain a minimum of 70% N1 above 10,000 feet MSL or 60% N1 below 10,000 feet MSL on the affected engine in icing conditions.
