F. Place speed brake lever in the DOWN position. Ensure that operative speed brakes retract.
G. Ensure that the inoperative spoiler pair remain down throughout steps A through F. If the inoperative spoiler moves out of the retracted position when either the wheel or speed brake lever is moved or remains stationary out of the retracted position, disable the spoiler pair by performing step number 2.
NOTE: It is permissible to dispatch with the spoiler pair not disabled provided the spoiler panel remains in the retracted position.
2. To disable a spoiler pair and secure it in the retracted position, do the procedure that follows:
WARNING: ENSURE THE SPOILER/SPEEDBRAKE DEACTIVATION PROCEDURE IS DONE
CORRECTLY. ACCIDENTAL SPOILER MOVEMENT CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
A. Do the deactivation procedure for the Spoiler/Speedbrake Control System (MM 27-61-00/201).
B. Remove power from the left, right, and center hydraulic systems (MM 29-11-00/20l).
WARNING: ENSURE THAT HYDRAULIC POWER WILL NOT BE SUPPLIED TO THE PCA DURING MAINTENANCE. THE SPOILER PANEL WILL RETRACT IMMEDIATELY, AND CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
C. Operate the manual release cam on the bottom of the PCA and manually move the spoiler panel to the up position.
D. Disconnect the electrical connector from the PCA Cap and stow the connectors for flight.
E. Manually move the spoiler panel to a position slightly above the neutral position.
F. Do the activation procedure for the Spoiler/Speedbrake Control System (MM 27-61-00/201).
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT ALL PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE AWAY FROM THE CONTROL SURFACES BEFORE HYDRAULIC POWER IS SUPPLIED. STAY AWAY FROM THE AREA DURING THEIR OPERATION.
G. Pressurize the left, center, and right hydraulic systems (MM 29-11-00/201).
H. Make sure that the deactivated spoiler panels return to their neutral positions and are held in this position by their PCAS.
 
I. Turn the control wheel full counterclockwise (left). Ensure that the operative left wing spoilers extend.
NOTE: Spoilers 1, 2, 3, and 5 will extend approximately 45 degrees. Spoiler number 6 will extend approximately 30 degrees (panel 4 will not extend).
J. Turn the control wheel full clockwise (right). Ensure that the operative right wing spoilers extend.
NOTE: Spoilers 8, 10, 11, and 12 will extend approximately 45 degrees. Spoiler number 7 will extend approximately 30 degrees (panel 9 will not extend).
K. Place speed brake lever in the UP position. Ensure that all operative spoilers operate normally (panels 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 10, 11 and 12 will extend approximately 45°; panels 6 and 7 will extend approximately 30°; panels 4 and 9 will extend approximately 55°).
L. Ensure that the inoperative spoiler pair remain down and do not move. If the inoperative spoiler panel pair is not secured in the down position, dispatch is not allowed.
