NOTE: Two procedures are provided for deactivating an inoperative alternate anti-skid valve. The first procedure deactivates the anti-skid system and requires that performance decrements by Actual Calculation Software for takeoff and by OM-B for landing to be applied. The second procedure deactivates the inoperative alternate anti-skid valve and the normal anti-skid/ autobrake system continues to operate normally.
A. Deactivate anti-skid system for affected brakes by opening appropriate circuit breakers.
 If brakes which do not apply are on the left gear, open and collar the ANTISKID 1-5 and/or the ANTISKID 2-6 circuit breakers.
 If brakes which do not apply are on the right gear, open and collar the ANTISKID 3-7 and/or the ANTISKID 4-8 circuit breakers.
 Depress and release brake pedals. Observe brake unit wear indicator pins to check that all brakes apply and release.
 If brakes apply and release on all brakes, manual braking capability on the alternate brake system is verified and dispatch is allowed.
 Placard airplane flight log - ANTISKID INOP.
 Notify dispatch that the anti-skid system has been deactivated.
B. Deactivate alternate anti-skid valve(s) for affected brakes.
 Disconnect and stow connector for affected alternate anti-skid valve (see illustration). WHEELS VALVE NUMBER VALVE LOCATION
1 and 2 V37 L Wing, Outboard
3 and 4 V39 R Wing, Outboard
5 and 6 V38 L Wing, Inboard
7 and 8 V40 R Wing, Inboard
 Depress and release brake pedals. Observe brake unit wear indicator pins to check that all brakes apply and release.
 If brakes apply and release on all brakes, manual braking capability on the alternate brake system is verified and dispatch is allowed with no performance penalties.

OPERATIONS (O)
Inoperative Alternate Anti-Skid Valves do not affect the normal braking system. However, flight crews should be aware that loss of the right hydraulic system enroute will result in illumination of the ANTISKID light and message indicating braking effectiveness on the alternate system is reduced. If this occurs, brake with caution.
1. If anti-skid system is inoperative:
A. Use Anti-Skid Inoperative performance decrements by Actual Calculation Software for takeoff and by OM-B for landing as applicable.
 
 Select AUTO BRAKES OFF.
 Use moderate braking action, consistent with runway conditions, for stopping.

1. Verify that the antiskid system is operating normally as follows:
A. With electrical power on airplane and wheels chocked, release parking brake and check that the parking brake valve is full open.
WARNING: INSTALL DOOR LOCKS BEFORE ENTERING WHEEL WELL (AMM 32-00-15).
