B. ENG SEC CONT
If L ENG SEC CONT is displayed, position the EEC MAINT CHANNEL SEL switch on the EEC Maintenance Panel (P61) to the AUTO mode, then open and collar LEFT EEC CHANNEL SEL circuit breaker on the P11 panel.
If R ENG SEC CONT is displayed, position the EEC MAINT CHANNEL SEL switch on the EEC Maintenance Panel (P61) to the AUTO mode, then open and collar RIGHT EEC CHANNEL SEL circuit breaker on the P11 panel.
Verify that the primary EEC channel is in control of the affected engine:
Move the EEC POWER switch on the EEC Maintenance Panel (P61) to the ALTN position.
Select the EICAS EPCS page on the EICAS MAINT panel (P61).
Verify that a white box is displayed around PRI on the affected engine on the EPCS page.
Move the EEC POWER switch to the NORM position.
C. ENG PRI CONT
1) Move the EEC POWER switch on the EEC Maintenance Panel (P61) to the ALTN position.
2) Select the EICAS EPCS switch on the EICAS MAINT panel (P61).
3) If either of the following EPCS messages are displayed for the affected engine, dispatch is not allowed:
P(S) 351-23
P(S) SVA OR FCU/EEC
4) If neither of the messages in step 3) are displayed, dispatch is allowed.
5) Move the EEC POWER switch to the NORM position.
4. Verify the thrust reverser operates normally (Ref. AMM 78-31-1/501), or deactivate thrust reverser per MEL 78-31-1.
A. Make sure the thrust levers are in the idle position.
CAUTION: DO NOT EXTEND THE THRUST REVERSER WHILE THE CORE COWL PANEL IS OPENED.
DAMAGE TO THRUST REVERSER AND CORE COWL PANELS CAN OCCUR.
B. Make sure the thrust reverser halves are closed.
C. Make sure the core cowl panels are closed.
WARNING: THE THRUST REVERSER WILL AUTOMATICALLY RETRACT IF THE ELECTRICAL POWER TO THE EEC/THRUST REVERSER CONTROL SYSTEM IS TURNED OFF OR IF THE EEC MAINT POWER SWITCH IS MOVED TO NORM POSITION. THE ACCIDENTAL OPERATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
D. For the affected engine:
Move the EEC MAINT CHANNEL SEL L(R) switch to the AUTO position.
Make sure the L(R) ENG Fire switch is in the NORM position.
E. For the affected engine, make sure these circuit breakers on the main distribution panel P6 are closed:
FUEL COND CONT L(R)
T/L INTERLOCK L(R)
L(R) ENG ELECTRONIC ENGINE CONTROL ALTN PWR SYNC-LOCK LEFT(RIGHT) ENG
F. Make sure these circuit breakers on the overhead panel P11 are closed.
AIR/GND SYS 1 AIR/GND SYS 2
G. For the affected engine, make sure these circuit breakers on the overhead panel P11 are closed:

LEFT(RIGHT) ENGINE THRUST REVERSER PRI CONT LEFT(RIGHT) ENGINE THRUST REVERSER SEC CONT LEFT(RIGHT) ENGINE THRUST REVERSER CONT/SCAV PRESS LEFT(RIGHT) ENGINE T/R IND
