Landing gear lever - LANDING GEAR LOCKED DOWN
MAINTENANCE (M)
1. Install the landing gear downlock pins in the main and nose gear as follows.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE MAIN GEAR DOORS CAN NOT OPEN INTO PERSONS OR EQUIPMENT. DOORS OPEN QUICKLY AND CAN CAUSE INJURY OR DAMAGE.
Install landing gear door locks (AMM 32-00-15).
Put the landing gear control lever in the DN position.
Use the downlock removal/installation tool to install the downlocks on the main landing gear (2 locations). Refer to AMM 32-00-20 task 32-00-20-002-001 Landing Gear Downlocks Maintenance Practices.
Use the downlock removal/installation tool to install the downlocks on the nose landing gear. Refer to AMM 32-00-20 task 32-00-20-002-001 Landing Gear Downlocks Maintenance Practices.
Return the landing gear door locks to the normal condition.
2. Open and collar the Landing Gear Lever Lock circuit breaker prior to flight to prevent inadvertent gear lever movement to the up position.
3. Select the ALTN position (switch pushed up) on the ALTERNATE Vmo/Mmo switch S10471 on the EE Bay Service Panel. This provides gear down Vmo/Mmo data for display on airspeed indicators and causes the aural warning siren, red WARNING master warning lights on the glareshield, and the RED OVSPD warning light on the captain's panel to come on, and OVERSPEED warning on EICAS to appear when the gear down Vmo/Mmo is exceeded.
OPERATIONS (O)
Ensure the airplane is dispatched in accordance QRH Gear Down Operations.
Base flight plan on landing gear extended.
The ALT Vmo/Mmo switch to the Air Data Computer has been set to provide gear down Vmo/Mmo data for display on airspeed indicators. The aural warning, red warning lights on the glareshield, and the RED OVSPD warning light on the captain's panel will come on when the gear down Vmo/Mmo is exceeded.
