NOTE: MEL Item 32-42-1 applies to all Normal and Alternate Antiskid System faults (including transducer faults) except for Alternate Antiskid Valve faults. For Alternate Antiskid Valve faults, consult MEL item 32-42-2 for possible dispatch relief.

For dispatch with one antiskid channel inoperative, deactivate the associated brake in accordance with Item 32-41-1.
For antiskid system inoperative dispatch with two or more channels inoperative, it is recommended that the inoperative channels be deactivated and the remaining operating channels be used. Deactivate inoperative antiskid channels using either procedure A or B below (operative channels remain available) or deactivate the entire system per step 3. Procedure A is applicable only for airplanes with an Antiskid ON/OFF switch on the P5 panel.
A. Deactivate the inoperative channels using EICAS antiskid advisory messages.
With electrical power on the airplane, open the four antiskid circuit breakers (ANTISKID 1- 5, ANTISKID 2-6, ANTISKID 3-7 and ANTISKID 4-8; P11 panel). EICAS message ANTISKID OFF should appear.
One at a time, close each circuit breaker. If advisory message ANTISKID OFF remains with circuit breaker closed, that channel of the antiskid system is faulty. Open and collar the circuit breaker. If advisory message ANTISKID OFF is no longer displayed and advisory message ANTISKID displays, that channel is operative. Re-open the operative channel circuit breaker prior to checking other channels.
After all four pairs of channels have been checked, close circuit breaker(s) for all operative channels.

Select AUTO BRAKES OFF and placard switch - AUTO BRAKES INOP. B. Deactivate the inoperative channels using BITE check:
Gain access to antiskid box, main E/E equipment center.
Note all faults by pressing BIT until TEST END.
Clear faults by pushing RESET.
Note recurrent faults by pressing BIT until TEST END.
Open and collar circuit breakers for channels that display fault codes XDCR ____ or BOX ____.
