HYDRAULIC GROUND SERVICING SYSTEM - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
_____________________________________________________________
General (Fig. 1)
_______
 A.  The hydraulic ground servicing system is used for filling the hydraulic reservoirs from one location. All components of the system are found in the left body gear wheel well. The system has a manually operated hand pump with a suction line, a connection for a ground cart pressure fill, a reservoir quantity fill indicator, a selector valve, and a reservoir fill filter.
Hand Pump (Fig. 1)
_________
 A.  A hand pump is used to fill the hydraulic reservoirs when pressure fill equipment is not available. It is a double acting piston-type pump with a spring-loaded one-way valve in the piston head, and another in the suction port. When the pump is not in use, the handle is removed and put in a bracket next to the pump.
Selector Valve (Fig. 1)
______________
 A.  The valve is used to control the flow of fluid to the applicable supply system reservoir. The assembly has ports IN A and IN B, out ports 1, 2, 3, and 4, and a five-position quantity indicator switch. The switch is mechanically connected to the valve such that it will be operated with the valve when the selector handle is turned. The switch and the valve can turn continuously in either direction. The unit operates also as a shutoff valve for all of the ports. When the selector handle is turned to the closed position, the quantity indicator switch is also put in the off position.
Reservoir Quantity Fill Indicator (Fig. 1)
_________________________________
 A.  The indicator is used to measure fluid quantity in the reservoir selected by the position of the selector valve. It is connected by the selector valve switch to the HYQUIM which sends a signal to the EICAS to give a duplicate indication of the reservoir fluid quantity.
