(2) S 863-024Release the pressure in the applicable hydraulic system (AMM 29-11-00/201).
(3) S 033-004Remove the filter bowl from the filter head.
(4) S 023-005Remove the filter element.
(5) S 013-006Remove the O-rings from the filter bowl and the filter element.
(6) S 213-007Do a visual check of these parts: (a) Examine the filter element, the filter bowl, and the filter head for signs of metal contamination. (b) Examine the filter head, and the filter bowl for damaged threads or surfaces which have scratches.
(7) S 113-008Do these steps to clean the filter: (a) Clean the metal parts in solvent. (b) Put the filter element in a vertical position in a container of solvent. (c) Soak the filter element in the solvent for 15 minutes. (d) Lift the filter element out of the solvent. (e) Clean the outer surface of the filter element with clean solvent.
NOTE:____ Do not use a brush or rub the surfaces of the filter element. Do not let dirty solvent get on the inner surfaces of the filter element.
(f) (g) Put the filter element in a fixture.Flush the filter element in the opposite direction (from the inner surface to the outer surface) with clean pressurized air.
NOTE:____ Use a series of pulses of sudden air pressure, and then a strong jet of clean air.
(8) S 643-009Lubricate the new O-rings with hydraulic fluid or Skydrol assembly lube.
(9) S 643-019Lubricate the threads of the filter bowl and the filter head with Skydrol assembly lube.

Install the O-rings on the filter bowl and the filter element.

Install the clean filter element on the filter head.

Fill the filter bowl with hydraulic fluid.

Tighten the filter bowl to 75 pound-inches.

Safety the filter bowl with a lockwire.

Examine the filter for leaks.

If you find a leak, repair the cause of the leak.

Release the pressure in the hydraulic system, if it is not necessary (AMM 29-11-00/201).

Examine the doors on the trailing edge fairing:
(a)
Examine the latches on the doors in the trailing edge fairing for cracks and wear.
(b)
Make sure that all latches are there.
(c)
Repair and adjust the latches if it is necessary
(AMM 54-62-02/501).

CAUTION: MAKE SURE YOU LATCH THE DOORS ON THE TRAILING EDGE FAIRING
_______ CORRECTLY. IF THE DOORS OPEN DURING A FLIGHT, THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE DOORS.
(20) Close the doors in the trailing edge fairing (AMM 54-62-00/201).
