E. Procedure
S 796-078
(1) Use the sump drain tool MIT65BB00772, to push open this valve SHROUD DRAIN APU FUEL (View A-A).
NOTE: The SHROUD DRAIN APU FUEL drain valve is located on
____ the fuselage skin between the wheel well doors for the body landing gear.

Hold the drain valve open until you remove all of the fluid.

Discard any collected fuel.

Do a fuel leak check at the drain valve.

Monitor the fuel leakage rate for five minutes.

If the fuel leakage rate is more than one drop per minute, then there is a fuel leak.

Do this task to find out if the fuel leak is within allowable fuel leakage limits: 1) Fuel Leak Check of the APU Fuel-Feed Line

If the fuel leakage rate is not more than one drop per minute, then the APU fuel-feed line is satisfactory.

Put the Airplane Back to the Usual Condition

(1) Remove the door locks (AMM 32-00-30/201).

3. Fuel Leak Check of the APU Fuel-Feed Line_________________________________________
A. General
(1)
Do this task if you find a fuel leak at the APU shroud drain valve.
(2)
This procedure pressurizes the APU fuel-feed line for 30 minutes to find out if the fuel leakage rate is within allowable limits.

Make sure the No. 2 and No. 3 main tanks contain a minimum of 2500 lbs (1200 kgs) of fuel.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND LOCKS ARE INSTALLED IN ALL OF THE
_______ LANDING GEAR. WITHOUT THE GROUND LOCKS, THE LANDING GEAR CAN RETRACT AND CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(4) Make sure the ground locks are installed in the nose and main gear (AMM 09-11-00/201).
