(b) Supply the electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).
CAUTION: DO NOT OPERATE THE OVERRIDE/JETTISON PUMPS DRY FOR MORE
_______ THAN THREE MINUTES. YOU CAN DAMAGE AN OVERRIDE/JETTISON PUMP IF YOU OPERATE IT DRY FOR MORE THAN THREE MINUTES.
(c) Make sure the No. 2 or 3 main tank, or center wing tank contains enough fuel to operate an override/jettison pump.
NOTE: At different pitch and roll attitudes the fuel quantity
____ that is necessary to cover the fuel pump inlets will change. Refer to the fuel pump inlet graphs (AMM 28-31-01/401).
1) The minimum fuel that is necessary in the No. 2 or 3 main tank is 12,500 pounds (5700 kilograms). 2) The minimum fuel that is necessary in the center wing tank is 15,000 pound (6800 kilograms).
(d)
Add fuel if it is necessary (AMM 12-11-01/301).
(e)
For the applicable engine, close the circuit breaker and remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tag: 1) P6 Main Power Distribution Panel
(f)
Put these flight compartment switches to the on (valve open) position: 1) FUEL X FEED 1 2) FUEL X FEED 2 3) FUEL X FEED 3 4) FUEL X FEED 4
(g)
Put the applicable FUEL CONTROL switch to the RUN position.
(h)
Put one of these flight compartment switches for the override/jettison pumps to on: 1) OVRD 2 FWD or AFT 2) OVRD 3 FWD or AFT 3) CTR L or R
(i)
Do a visual inspection of the fuel line in the strut area with the fuel line pressurized.

2) Do the steps in this procedure to remove the fuel from the fuel line in the strut area.
CAUTION: YOU CANNOT TIGHTEN THE FUEL LINE COUPLING AFTER THE
_______ INITIAL INSTALLATION. YOU MUST INSTALL A NEW O-RING WHEN YOU TIGHTEN THE FUEL LINE COUPLING OR A FUEL LEAK CAN OCCUR.
3) If a coupling has a leak, disconnect the coupling, replace the O-rings, and then connect the coupling again (AMM 28-00-00/201). a) Make sure the O-ring(s) are lubricated with the
petrolatum. 4) If a fuel tube has a leak, replace the fuel tube. 5) Do the steps in this procedure again to pressurize the
applicable fuel line and check for leaks.
(k) When the fuel line is satisfactory (no leaks), do these steps: 1) Put the applicable override/jettison pump switch to off. 2) Put the FUEL CONTROL switch to CUTOFF. 3) Put the FUEL X FEED switches 1, 2, 3, and 4 to the off
(valve closed) position.
