Before you begin the fuel transfer operation, make sure there is sufficient space in the tank that receives the fuel. You can drain the remaining fuel through the sump drain valves.

When you move fuel from one tank to a different tank, monitor the fuel quantity limits for each tank. If you put too much fuel in a tank, unwanted fuel will flow out through the vent system.
(5)
You must obey the limits shown in AMM 10-11-03/201, when you use the tail support stanchion in high winds.

D. Fuel Transfer Precautions

(1)
Obey these precautions during a fuel transfer operation:
(a)
Maintain the airplane CG per the weight and balance manual.
(b)
Plan the fuel transfer sequence to make sure the airplane CG is within limits per the weight and balance manual.
(c)
Make sure there is sufficient fuel capacity in the fuel tank(s) that will receive the transferred fuel.
(d)
If the planned fuel transfer operation will cause the fuel load in the left and right wing to be unequal, then do this task: Lateral Fuel Imbalance Limits.

Prepare for the Fuel Transfer Operation

WARNING: DO THE PROCEDURE IN AMM 32-00-30/201 TO INSTALL THE DOOR LOCKS.
_______ THE DOORS OPEN AND CLOSE QUICKLY AND CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Install the door locks for the wing and body landing gear
(AMM 32-00-30/201).

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE LE AND TE
_______ FLAPS AND FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS BEFORE YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. WITH HYDRAULIC POWER REMOVED, THE FLAPS WILL MOVE AUTOMATICALLY BY ELECTRICAL POWER WHEN YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(2) Make sure persons and equipment are clear of the leading and trailing edge flaps.
