 FUEL SYSTEM MANAGEMENT CARD - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

 1.  General_______
 A.  This procedure contains instructions to do an operational test of the fuel system management cards, FSMC A and FSMC B. To start the BITE, stop power to the FSMC card for a minimum of five minutes, or ground the FSMC A or FSMC B jack on the front of M7852 fuel system card file.
 B.  The fuel system management cards (FSMC) go through a power up BITE test in the five seconds after you apply electrical power. A bad FSMC shows as a fuel system management card A fail or fuel system management card B fail CMC message. An FSMC A or FSMC B EICAS status message can also show a bad FSMC. But, these EICAS messages are also attached to EIU bus fail and FSEIC master bus fail CMC messages.
 C.  The FSMC power up BITE does a test of the FSMC random access memory (RAM), read only memory (ROM), processor, outputs in the off mode and outputs in the on mode. To do a check on the outputs in the on mode, it is necessary to start the logic to cause the output. The length of time to start the output is less than that necessary to operate the relays that drive the pumps and valves.

 (a)  
Open these circuit breakers:

 1)  P6, Main Power Distribution Panel a) 6F7, FUEL SYS MGMT CARD B b) 6F5, FUEL SYS MGMT CARD A

 (b)  
After five minutes, close these circuit breakers:
