Procedure
S 434-010
(1)
Install a new packings, (12) lubricated with petrolatum grease, on the removal check valve.
S 424-011
(2)
Put the removal check valve (8) in its position on the main tank boost pump housing (11).

(3)
Install the bolts (2), washers (1,14), and nuts (13) (6 locations) that attach the removal check valve to the main tank boost pump housing (11).

(4)
Install a new packing (7) in the coupling (15), lubricated with petrolatum grease, on the pump inlet line (6).
(5)
Connect the coupling (15) to the removal check valve (8).

NOTE: If the bonding jumpers on the line were disconnected or
____ removed, make sure that the bonding surfaces on the lines are clean and install the bonding jumpers.

(6) Go out of and close the fuel tank (AMM 28-11-02/401).

(7) S 654-014Refuel the applicable fuel tank (AMM 12-11-01/301).
(8) S 014-015Remove the motor/impeller unit from the main tank boost pump (AMM 28-22-03/401).
(9) S 794-016Do a check for leaks on the main tank boost pump removal check valve.

Install the motor/impeller unit in the main tank boost pump (AMM 28-22-03/401).

Install boost pump access doors, if removed.

MAIN TANK BOOST PUMP DISCHARGE CHECK VALVE - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains instructions to remove and install the discharge check valve for the main tank boost pumps.
B. A discharge check valve is installed in each main tank boost pump housing, found in the inboard main and the outboard main tanks. The check valve is a spring-loaded poppet mounted in an aluminum alloy body type valve located in the discharge tube.
C. Access to the discharge check valves is through the applicable fuel tank access doors in the inboard and outboard main tank.
