CAUTION:_______YOU MUST NOT DISTORT THE SHAPE OF THE RETAINING RING. IF YOU DISTORT THE SHAPE OF THE RING YOU MAY CAUSE PERMANENT DAMAGE TO THE RING AND CAN CAUSE LEAKS AT THE COUPLING.

Put the retaining ring (11) over the end of the valve body (9) to keep the coupling nut (10) on the valve body.

Install a new packing (5), lightly lubricated with petrolatum, over the end of the valve body (9).

Tighten the coupling nut (10) on the inlet tee (12) with your hand until only three threads show on the tee.

Put the coupling (8) over the end of the valve body (9). S 434-018

Put the retaining ring (7) over the end of the valve body (9) to hold the coupling (8) on the valve body.

Put the packings (5), lightly lubricated with petrolatum, over the end of the ferrule on the outlet tube (4) and the end of the valve body (9).

Put the outlet tube (4) and the valve body (9) together with a gap of 0.10-0.20 inch between the ends.

Put the retainer halves (6) in the gap so that the packings (5) are between the retaining rings (7) and the retainer halves (6).

Snap the retainer halves together.

Tighten the coupling nut on the outlet tube (4) until no threads show on the coupling (8).

Install lockwire between the coupling nut to the coupling.

A. The fuel system is designed to permit complete or partial defueling of any or all tanks. To accomplish the defueling operation, portions of the pressure fueling, center wing tank scavenge, reserve tank transfer, engine fuel feed, and fuel jettison systems are used in combination.
