Install the tail support equipment if you cannot keep the airplane center of gravity in the limits given in the weight and balance manual (AMM 07-11-08/201).

Defuel the applicable fuel tank (AMM 28-26-00/201).

Purge and go into the fuel tank (AMM 28-11-00/201).

Remove the applicable fuel tank access door for access to the boost pump discharge check valve (AMM 28-11-02/401) and go into the fuel tank.
(a)
For the main tank boost pump discharge check valve in the No. 1 or No. 4 main tank forward and aft boost pumps, remove the fuel tank access door, 545BB or 645BB.
(b)
For the main tank boost discharge check valve in the No. 2 or No. 3 main forward and aft boost pumps, remove the fuel tank access door, 544AB or 644AB.

Remove the ejector pump pressure line (12) from the discharge check valve (1).

Discard the packing (13).

Remove the bolts (16), washers (17), and nuts (18) that attach the discharge check valve (1) to the discharge line (3).

Discard the packing (2).

Discard the packing (5).

Remove the bolts (9), washers (10), and the nuts (11) (4 locations) that attach the discharge check valve (1) to the main tank boost pump housing (8).
