Attach a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag to the FUEL CONTROL switch.

Make sure the status page appears on the auxiliary EICAS.

Make sure the applicable FUEL SPAR VLV (1, 2, 3, or 4) or FUEL CUTOFF ENG (1, 2, 3, or 4) message(s) are not shown.

WARNING: MAKE SURE YOU OPEN THE APPLICABLE CIRCUIT BREAKERS FOR THE
_______ ENGINE IGNITION BEFORE YOU OPEN THE ENGINE CIRCUIT BREAKER FOR THE FUEL CONTROL VALVE. THE IGNITER PLUGS CAN START THE IGNITION AUTOMATICALLY IF YOU DO NOT OPEN THE CIRCUIT BREAKERS. IF THE COMBUSTION CHAMBER HAS FUEL IN IT, AN INTERNAL ENGINE FIRE OR A TAILPIPE FIRE CAN OCCUR. THE FIRE CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(5) FOR THE APPLICABLE ENGINE; Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a) P6 Main Power Distribution Panel

Remove the electrical power from the airplane (AMM 24-22-00/201).

Drain the fuel from the fuel line and the engine fuel pump (Figure 401, View D).
(a)
Remove the drain plug from the fuel pump.
(b)
Drain the fuel into the container.
(c)
Remove and discard the O-ring from the drain plug.

Install the drain plug after you have drained the fuel.
(a)
Use a new O-ring lubricated with the petrolatum.
(b)
Tighten the drain plug to 45-55 pound-inches (5.1-6.2 Newton-meters).
(c)
Install the lockwire on the drain plug.
