WARNING: DO THE PROCEDURE IN AMM 27-51-00/201 TO DEACTIVATE THE TRAILING
_______ EDGE FLAPS. ACCIDENTAL OPERATION OF THE FLAPS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(5) Do the deactivation procedure for the trailing edge flaps (AMM 27-51-00/201).
S 492-170
WARNING: USE THE TAIL SUPPORT EQUIPMENT IF YOU CANNOT KEEP THE CENTER OF
_______ GRAVITY IN THE LIMITS GIVEN BY THE WEIGHT AND BALANCE MANUAL. IF THE AIRPLANE CENTER OF GRAVITY IS NOT IN THESE LIMITS, THE AFT END OF THE AIRPLANE CAN HIT THE GROUND.
(6) Install the tail support equipment if you can not keep the airplane center of gravity in the limits given by the weight and balance manual (AMM 07-11-08/201).
S 482-382
CAUTION: MOVE ALL UNNECESSARY SUPPORT EQUIPMENT AWAY FROM THE AIRPLANE.
_______ POSSIBLE AIRPLANE CONTACT WITH SUPPORT EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR. DURING THE DEFUEL OPERATION THE CHANGE IN FUEL LOAD CAUSES THE AIRPLANE PITCH AND ROLL ATTITUDE TO CHANGE. THIS CONDITION CAN CAUSE THE WINGS AND FUSELAGE TO MOVE UP OR DOWN. DURING WINDY OR SLIPPERY CONDITIONS ON THE RAMP, AN AFT CG CONDITION CAN CAUSE THE AIRPLANE TO WEATHERVANE AND THE NOSE OF THE AIRPLANE TO MOVE SIDEWAYS. THIS MOVEMENT CAN CAUSE THE AIRPLANE TO CONTACT SUPPORT EQUIPMENT.
(7) Move all unnecessary support equipment and stands away from the airplane.
S 862-367
WARNING: IF A FUEL SPILL OCCURS DURING DEFUELING, DO NOT DO THE APU
_______ SHUTDOWN PROCEDURE. SUDDEN SHUTDOWN OF THE APU WHILE IT IS ON CAN CAUSE A PRESSURE SURGE OF BURNING GASES OUT OF THE APU. THE BURNING GASES CAN CAUSE A FIRE OR EXPLOSION.
WARNING:_______DO NOT START OR STOP THE APU DURING THE DEFUELING OPERATION. A FIRE OR EXPLOSION CAN OCCUR.

Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).
(a)
If you use the APU to supply electrical power, make sure the No. 2 and No. 3 main tanks each contain sufficient fuel to permit continuous operation of the APU during defueling (AMM 12-11-01/301).
(b)
If you cannot get power from the APU or an external source, you can do these steps to use the airplane battery: 1) Set the BATTERY switch on the electrical system control
module, on the pilots' overhead panel, P5, to ON. 2) Set the STANDBY POWER knob on the electrical system control module, on the pilots' overhead panel, P5, to OFF. 3) Set the refuel power switch on the refuel control panel to BATTERY.

WARNING: DO NOT OPEN THE JETTISON NOZZLE VALVE DURING THE DEFUELING
_______ OPERATION. MAKE SURE YOU OPEN THE JTSN NOZZLE VLV CONT L AND R CIRCUIT BREAKERS. IF THE CIRCUIT BREAKERS ARE NOT OPEN, YOU CAN CAUSE A FUEL LEAK TO OCCUR. FUEL CAN FLOW FROM THE JETTISON NOZZLE WHICH CAN CAUSE A DANGEROUS CONDITION FOR EQUIPMENT AND PERSONS.
(10)
